Day 2 of the SITS Girl Back To Blogging is about back to school! I’m sure not everyone will admit that they loved school. I can definitely tell you, I was NOT too cool for school. Don’t judge me for how my mother dressed me. Looking at myself in that pic, I cringe. Who wore fluffy pink sweaters like that? Apparently this girl… and don’t even get me started on the hair.
Anyway, I love learning and helping others. I feel like its something I meant to do. For this time in my life, I feel like my call is to help other women realize their potential and create a lifestyle business whether through blogging or coaching and I can help with that.
I always loved school supply shopping, the cooler air because that meant I got hot chocolate and just loved learning!
I don’t have any one specific memory that I can think about with school and what was my favorite. I have a favorite teacher. Her name was Mrs. Cass, she was my 4th grade teacher and I feel like she shaped my future. She was so patient and loving and I was super sad whenever I had a sick day because I would miss learning in her classroom.
As I got older, I remember I would see her once or twice a year and she always remembered my name and would say hi and see how I was doing. Not many teachers remember kids after 10 or 15 years, but Mrs. Cass did.
This year for my kids it wasn’t back to school, it was my 4 (well 5 now) year old starting 4k. For those of you that don’t know, its like Pre-K. In Wisconsin, most 4k classes are 2 1/2 hours a day. Cameron absolutely loves it! Everyday he comes home and tells me something new he’s learned.
I really hope that we can make his back to school moments going forward a big success and fun. I never want my children to stop learning and being better people. So far Cam says his favorite “back to school” moment has been playing in colored shaving cream. He said they got to mix the different colors to see how they worked together. Pretty cool!
What’s one of your favorite back to school memories? Or your kids?
