DIY No-Sew Halloween Costumes
If your kids are anything like mine, then they LOVE Jake from the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates! The Jake costume is VERY simple and comfortable for any gender, though this one is supposed to be for boys. If your daughter wants to be a pirate, she can absolutely be Jake with the colors as they are, change to “girlier” colors, OR they can go as…
Izzy from the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates is a total kick butt pirate in her own right. This Izzy no-sew costume is VERY simple and uses a lot of scalloping and cutting to get Izzy’s look. A change I noticed is that on the show, Izzy actually wears purple leggings, so if you’re really picky about that stuff, finding purple leggings should be really simple.
I think it’s impossible to not be aware of the Frozen overtaking of Halloween this year. An Olaf the Snowman costume can be $30 or more – and that’s if you can find one. Here’s a simple and cheap Olaf costume (the blogger at EastCoastMom spent less than $10!).
If you’re into name-brand EVERYTHING for your kids, but can’t afford the $60 (plus an arm and a leg, and perhaps your first child) to pay for a costume your child will wear one time, then here is a Pottery Barn Kids replica cupcake costume that requires no sewing and looks SO cute on your little one. Also, if you are feeling particularly crafty, the here are the matching cupcake new-sew treat bag instructions.
Minions are still so popular! This tutorial for a boy and a girl Despicable Me Minion costume is so amazingly easy, you’ll laugh that you didn’t think of it yourself. This would be a great idea for a group of friends or in a family of lots of kids. The two in the picture would be great example of fraternal twins! 🙂
